Police: Robber using sales app to target victims in Chicago Lawn

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police have issued a warning about a robber using a sales app to target victims in the Chicago Lawn neighborhood.

Police said in two robberies this month, the suspect placed ads in a sales app offering up items for sale. When the victims arrived, they were robbed of their personal belongings.

The robberies occurred in the 6500-block of South Richmond Street at 6:20 p.m. on September 3 and in the 6600-block of South Richmond Street at 8:30 p.m. on September 10.

The suspect is described by police as African-American, 18-25 years old, 5'7" to 5'9" and 150 to 160 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to contact Area Central Detectives as (312) 747-8382.
