SAN YSIDRO, Calif. -- A car belonging to a man suspected of fatally shooting his estranged wife in a Scripps Ranch, Calif., parking lot last weekend turned up abandoned Tuesday near the U.S.-Mexico border, KGTV-TV reports.

Surveillance video shows Jeremy Green paying for parking. When the attendant walks away, Green takes a deep breath. He pulls his Corvette into a spot. He goes to the trunk, changes his shirt and then walks out wearing all black and a hat.

This was Saturday afternoon. He pulled in at 3:01 p.m. and was out by 3:06, less than an hour after police say he shot his wife multiple times.

The couple was leaving their marriage counselor's office in Scripps Ranch. They got into an argument. Investigators say Green killed his wife Tressa right in the parking lot.

Shortly after, a woman found a shotgun believed to be the murder weapon ditched in a park.

Homicide investigators said there was no indication that Green was in Mexico. The parking attendants said police had not checked the lot before Tuesday afternoon.

Tressa Green filed for divorce in April. The couple had two children together. They also filed for bankruptcy twice since 2008.

Investigators won't say if anything was found inside the car.
