CHICAGO (WLS) -- A 49-year-old man was charged after police identified him as the person who was caught on camera taking packages from apartment buildings on Chicago's North Side.
The first burglary occurred on Oct. 11 around 10:30 p.m. in the 1800-block of North Winnebago Avenue in the city's Bucktown neighborhood. The second burglary occurred on Oct. 23 around 5:50 a.m. in the 1900-block of West Diversey Parkway in the city's Lakeview neighborhood.
Police released surveillance video of both incidents.
Video from the second burglary showed a man wearing a New York Yankees baseball cap, a dark sweater and tan pants break into the vestibule, grab packages and shove them into a black duffel bag before riding away on a bike.
Video from the first burglary showed a suspect in the same hat break into the lobby. Residents said it was the second time he'd been there, making off with an unusual item.
Investigators arrested Code, of the 2600-block of North Halsted Street, on Monday.
He was charged with two felony counts of burglary. He is due in bond court on Tuesday.
