CHICAGO (WLS) -- Offenders shot out the windows to gain entrance to an Albany Park jewelry store two days in a row, police said.
The burglaries occurred at Baladna Jewelers, located at a strip mall in the 4800 block of North Kedzie, at 2:48 a.m. on October 25 and 2:17 a.m. on October 26, 2015, police said. Surveillance cameras show the offenders wearing hooded sweatshirts and gloves.
The offenders got away with a few pieces found in display case, but most of the jewelry was locked in a safe, the owners said. The value of what was stolen was less than the cost of repairing damage done to the building.
Last week, a cell phone store in the same block was also hit. In that burglary, the offenders used a brick to break the glass door around 1:30 a.m. at Cell World. Surveillance video shows the offender, who takes off his hood, going to the counter, opening a cabinet and taking several boxes of cell phones before running away.
The suspect got away with about a $1,000 worth of cell phones, an employee said.
"The phones are around $500 to $700 each," Nancy Velazquez said.
