CHICAGO (WLS) -- Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced a new goal for Chicago Public Schools Monday.

By 2019, he wants to see half of all high school students earning college credit while in they are high school.

Meanwhile, CPS is launching a new program to be sure that students are prepared for college.

It is now engaging graduates who are college-bound in the fall to remind them of key milestones related to enrollment, financial aid, and counseling.
