HOUSTON -- Sometimes you just have to get away. But imagine the serenity that could come with owning your very own island.

No screaming neighborhood kids running through your lawn. No nosy neighbor coming over to borrow your hedge clippers. Serenity. Some peace and quiet.

It'll come at a price, but this could be your reality: A man-made island in League City is up for grabs near the South Shore Harbour Resort and Conference Center.

Developers have dreamed of building a high-end southern coastal village on Beacon Island since the 1980s, according to Houston Business Journal.
