1 killed, 11 injured after shooting, rollover crash near Dan Ryan

CHICAGO (WLS) -- At least one person is dead and 11 others injured after a SUV got caught in gang-related crossfire in the city's South Side, police said.

The incident happened at the intersection of 57th Street and La Salle around 2 a.m. Sunday, police said. That's just east of the Dan Ryan Expressway.

Police say the vehicle, which was carrying six people, got caught in the middle of gang-related gunfire exchanged between two groups of people at the intersection. The driver then lost control of the vehicle, causing it to roll over.

The six car passengers injured in the incident are all expected to recover, officials said. The deceased victim - one of six others standing near the intersection - died as a result of the shooting.

No one is in custody.
