Schaumburg to allow handgun sales at Dick's Sporting Goods

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (WLS) -- Dick's Sporting Goods in Schaumburg will soon add handguns to its retail arsenal.

The village board voted Tuesday night to allow the retailer to sell handguns along with the shotguns and hunting rifles already offered there.

As part of the deal, Dick's will escort customers and their gun purchases off the property and store firearms and ammunition behind metal gates.
