Sharon Fairley officially appointed as IPRA head

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Sharon Fairley has been leading Chicago's Independent Police Review Authority for several weeks, but on Tuesday she was officially appointed to the post.

A city council committee voted to approve her for the position.

Mayor Rahm Emanuel made the appointment last month after the release of the Laquan McDonald shooting video.
