A mother-of-three is calling out the retailer Target for sizing girls' clothing in significantly smaller proportions than similar items offered for boys.

Stephanie Giese of York, Penn., took to her blog to point out the merchandise, which she calls offending. It included supposedly large sized girls' items that were no bigger than extra-small-sized boys' clothes.

Giese is also taking issue with girls' shorts that she felt were inappropriately short for a young child.

Giese has written an open letter to Target that has since gone viral.

Target issued a statement overnight saying, "We'll take her feedback into consideration and hope our response helped address some of her concerns."
