CHICAGO (WLS) -- A youth organization is making Chicago Proud. On Friday, The All Stars Project of Chicago is celebrated 10 years of connecting young people from poor neighborhoods to the downtown business community.
The group held their 2017 benefit luncheon on Friday afternoon where it was announced that $5 million has been raised toward building a new after school center downtown.
The grassroots nonprofit tackles the issues of poverty, violence and disenfranchisement among youth in poor communities.
ABC 7's Terrell Brown was the emcee for the event.
