Chicago gets 'Clean and Green,' volunteers clear litter, weeds

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Saturday was "Clean and Green Day" in Chicago as volunteers, city crews and neighborhood residents worked to clear litter and weeds across the city.

Ald. Joanne Thompson joined the effort with a group working in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood.

She says when things are clean, people act differently. The volunteers were from the organization Chicago Gateway Green, which works to improve the environment.
