Teen creates Seeds of Love Fund while healing from injury
Lindsey McDonald created the Seeds of Love Fund for less fortunate families while she was healing from an injury in the hospital.

GENEVA, Ill. (WLS) -- Fifteen-year-old Lindsey McDonald of Geneva spent the summer confined to bed and a wheelchair, waiting for multiple broken bones to heal - the result of a horse falling on her. But rather than wallowing in self-pity, Lindsey spent her down time figuring out ways to help the less fortunate kids - and their parents - at Lurie Children's Hospital, where Lindsey convalesced.

The result is her Seeds of Love Fund, which has raised more than $4,000. More good news: Lindsey's back in school and riding horses again. You can read the full story in the Daily Herald's edition from Sunday, Oct. 19, or online at dailyherald.com.
