CHICAGO (WLS) -- A holiday tradition was held Friday, helping thousands of families in need in the Chicago area.
Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White handed out nearly 16,000 turkeys and hams on Friday.
His helpers loaded up the van before it headed out. The food went to senior citizens and needy families.
This is the 51st year White has done this, and the 35th year he has worked with the non-profit Emergency Fund.
