McHenry County first 'Purple Heart county' in Ill.

WOODSTOCK, Ill. (WLS) -- McHenry County is honoring local veterans, with a first-of-its-kind memorial.

McHenry is the first in Illinois to become a Purple Heart county.

This means the county can fly a special Purple Heart flag at the new memorial outside the courthouse in Woodstock.

Thursday's dedication included an aerial salute from a Huey helicopter.
