ROUND LAKE, Ill. (WLS) -- An 8-year-old boy had a very special birthday thanks to the kindness of his neighbors.

Micah Clack suffered a traumatic brain injury when he was 13 months old. He's a quadriplegic and can only see very bright lights.

Neighbors in Round Lake got together to build a play area in the basement of his family's home. It includes a swing and lights that pulse to the sound of music.

"We're really blessed. We have a lot of good people in our lives and I just see more and more evidence of that every day," said Kristen Clack, Micah's mother.

"It really comes down to, what can we can we do above and beyond what we do every day?" said Jason Dalke, Micah's neighbor.

Micah's mother says everyone was in tears when they saw him smile as he was placed on his swing for the first time.
