A collection of rare, vintage photograph negatives from the wedding of John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy are set to be auctioned in October. The images were captured by freelance photographer Arthur Borges of Fall River, MA, who was assigned to be a "back-up" photographer at the Kennedy wedding. The images were discovered in Borges' darkroom after his passing in 1993.

John and Jacqueline Kennedy's wedding took place on September 12, 1953, at St. Mary's church in Newport, Rhode Island. Kennedy was a U.S. Senator (D-MA) at the time, and Jacqueline was a photographer for the Washington Times-Herald. Their wedding was considered the social event of the season, with 700 guests at the ceremony and over 1,200 at the reception, and was even chronicled by LIFE magazine.

Each negative measures 3.75 x 5, four feature the couple, two show the wedding party, and others show the various parts of the reception. President John F. Kennedy was assassinated on November 22, 1963, and Jacqueline Kennedy later remarried shipping magnate Aristotle Onassis in 1968. Jacqueline passed away on May 19, 1994.
