Women robbed on South Shore

Chicago police issued an alert on December 4, 2015, after a string of robberies targeting women in the South Shore neighborhood.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police issued an alert after a string of robberies targeting women in the South Shore neighborhood.



The robberies all happened within a few blocks of each other during the month of November. All but one of the six robberies happened at night and three of them were in the 2600 block of East 79th.



Police said the man goes after women walking alone. Twice he implied he had or flashed a gun, officials said.

7800 Block of S. Luella Ave., on November 3, 2015 at approximately 10:00 p.m.


2600 Block of E. 79th St., on November 6, 2015 at approximately 1:50 a.m.


2600 Block of E. 79th St., on November 17, 2015 at approximately 3:45 a.m.


2600 Block of E. 79th St., on November 20, 2015 at approximately 1:30 p.m.


2700 Block of E. 79th St., on November 21, 2015 at approximately 3:30 a.m.


7800 Block of S. Marquette Ave., on November 24, 2015 at approximately 8:05 p.m.
