Bears LB Danny Trevathan to have thumb surgery

LAKE FOREST, Ill. -- Chicago Bears inside linebacker Danny Trevathan will have thumb surgery on Wednesday morning, coach John Fox said.

Fox stressed that Trevathan's injury is not season-ending, but the veteran linebacker is sidelined indefinitely.

Trevathan, a core member of theDenver Broncos' Super Bowl 50 championship defense, signed a four-year dealwith Chicago that included $12 million in guarantees.

Meanwhile, Fox confirmed to WBBM-AM 780 on Tuesday night that Bears linebacker Lamarr Houston tore the ACL in his left knee and will miss the rest of the season. Houston previously tore his ACL in 2014 while celebrating a meaningless sack in a Bears blowout loss at New England.

In other injury news for the Bears, nose tackle Eddie Goldman has a high ankle sprain, while defensive backs Adrian Amos and Bryce Callahan are in the NFL's concussion protocol.
