CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Chicago Blackhawks will soon have a new practice facility across the street from the United Center.

The mayor's office released renderings of what the practice space and community ice center will look like when it's finished.

The 125,000 square foot building, which will include two ice rinks, will be built in Chicago's Near West Side neighborhood.

The two-year construction project is scheduled to begin in 2016.

Malcom X College currently occupies the space. The school is moving to a new campus next year.

Rush University Medical Center said Thursday that they will be sharing the Malcom X land with the Blackhawks. Officials said they have plans to develop their seven acres of the 11-acre site.
