Bryce Harper causes social uproar with Instagram post teasing future team-up with Kris Bryant

Could we someday see Bryce Harper and Kris Bryant, the past two winners of the National League MVP, playing on the same team together?

Harper created a social firestorm by broaching the topic with a hashtag in an Instagram post following Tuesday's game between his Washington Nationals and Bryant's Chicago Cubs.

Back-to-back one day? Fans of both teams (and, perhaps, the New York Yankees) can only dream.

Bryant and Harper -- posing with their respective wives, Jessica and Kayla, in the photo -- played with and against each other while growing up in Las Vegas.

The best team they were both on was the Southern Nevada Bulldogs when Bryant was 14 and Harper 13.

"We won a lot of tournaments, and a lot of them were because of him," Bryant said in 2015.

Maybe one day they'll win lots of World Series together.
