SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Notre Dame leading scorer Demetrius Jackson will miss Thursday's game at Syracuse with an injured right hamstring.

Coach Mike Brey said Monday that Jackson will travel with the No. 25 Irish (14-5 overall, 5-2 ACC) but won't play against the Orange (13-8, 3-5). Brey said Jackson may also miss Sunday's game against Wake Forest (10-9, 1-6).

Brey said he doesn't want to bring Jackson back too quickly because hamstring injuries can be difficult to diagnose.

Jackson sustained the injury in the opening minutes of Notre Dame's 76-49 victory over Boston College on Saturday. The junior is 10th in the ACC in scoring at 16.6 points per game and tied for second in assists at 5.0 per game.

Brey said an MRI on Monday showed no further damage to the hamstring.
