Crews break ground on Mascot Hall of Fame in Whiting, Ind.

WHITING, Ind. (WLS) -- A new attraction for sports fans is coming to northwest Indiana.

It's the Mascot Hall of Fame. Several of those mascots joined students, city and business leaders for a parade to the museum's location in Whiting, Indiana.

According to the city, the Mascot Hall of Fame will feature exhibits and activities for the entire family.

Ground was broken Friday. The museum is expected to open late next year.
