Cubs catcher behind 'we are good'
Cubs Catcher Miguel Montero was honored by Secretary of State Jesse White during National Hispanic Heritage month.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- During the Cubs' champagne-soaked celebration after winning the NLDS, many player shouted the slogan, "We are good!" That chant started with Cubs catcher Miguel Montero, who was honored by Secretary of State Jesse White during Hispanic Heritage Month.

Montero said he's impressed with his younger teammates.

"Last year they were in the minor league, they weren't expected to be in the big league this year. So all the sudden they're in the big league and they're doing a great job. I mean, I don't think they know the capacity of what was happening right now, which is good. They're not afraid of anything right now, so it's a pretty good environment," Montero said.

Also honored at the Secretary of State event were Chicago Federation of Labor President Jorge Ramirez and the honorable Illinois State Representative Linda Chapa La Via. ABC7's John Garcia emceed.

The Chicago Cubs will learn Thursday whether their push for the pennant will take them to the East or West coast.

The Mets and Dodgers play Game 5 of their series Thursday night. The winner will host the Cubs Saturday for the start of the National League Championship Series.
