VIDEO: Father surprises Taney player with bat for birthday
Braheim Fowler was not expecting anything for his 12th birthday.

PHILADELPHIA -- Braheim Fowler was not expecting anything for his 12th birthday.

In fact, his father told him that.

"I told him I don't have nothing, don't ask for me nothing," Devon Fowler told Action News Monday afternoon. "He was mad."

Last Thursday, Braheim, a pitcher for the Taney Dragons youth baseball team, was getting ready for a game, was a bit upset at his father while they were in the car.

But when Devon told his son to get a box from the back, the birthday boy's expression went from upset to overwhelmed.

"I didn't expect him to get choked up," Devon said.

In the video, which Devon posted to his Facebook and went viral, Braheim is overtaken with emotion over his surprise birthday present. His father almost starts tearing up, as well.

"I worked hard, I worked overtime, to get him that," Devon told Action News.

Just like his son did not expect his birthday present, Devon says he did not expect the response his video is getting.

Braheim will be carrying his new bat as the Taney Dragons vie for the championship Monday night.
