CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police officers played softball with residents in the city's Englewood neighborhood on Saturday, an effort to promote peace.
The community softball tournament is called "Real Men of Englewood" and took place at Ogden Park.
Organizers said the game was a chance to put down the guns and curb gun violence.
"We're getting all the athletes together for the cause of this struggle, the killing and all the violence that's going on in these communities," said organizer Danell "Doc" Nicholson.
Nicholson is a former boxer and member of the 1992 U.S. Olympic team.
