Tom Kleinschmidt's number retired

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A legendary basketball player in Chicago was honored by his alma mater.

Former Gordon Tech and DePaul University star Tom Kleinschmidt had his Gordon Tech jersey retired Friday night.

Kleinschmidt wore number 34 from 1987 through 1991 for the school, which is now DePaul College Prep, where he is now head basketball coach and director of admissions.

He went on to star for the DePaul Blue Demons and played professionally overseas.
