Warrior Games continues in Chicago
The Warrior Games 2017 continued July 2, 2017 in Chicago.

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Warrior Games athletes continued to compete Sunday, participating in the track competition at Lane Tech Academy.

More than 260 wounded service members and veterans are in Chicago to compete in multiple events through Saturday.

The games started Friday night. On Saturday, performers Blake Shelton and Kelly Clarkston put on a concert at Soldier Field.

In the eight year of the Warrior Games, this is the first time they will be played off base, with events taking place at Soldier Field, the United Center, McCormick Place and other venues.

The games include eight adaptive sports, including shooting, sitting volleyball, track and wheelchair basketball. Athletes from all military branches, as well as the British and Australian armed forces, will participate.

The athletes are not just those wounded in combat, but also include some with illnesses diagnosed while in service
