SUGAR GROVE, Ill. (WLS) -- A middle school in west suburban Sugar Grove was put on lockdown Thursday morning following a threat posted on Twitter. Investigators are questioning a person of interest.
Police were notified of the threat against Kaneland Harter Middle School around 8 a.m. Thursday.
Investigators said the threat did not seem credible. But as a precaution, the school was placed on lockdown. Officers were also sent to the school to ensure student safety.
The lockdown was lifted around 11:45 a.m. Police plan to return to Harter on Friday.
Investigators are questioning a juvenile, who is a student at Harter. No charges have been filed.
Kaneland Community School District Superintendent Dr. Todd Leden said a similar online threat was made against the school last Friday.
