CHICAGO (WLS) -- An SUV plowed into an apartment on Chicago's West Side early Monday morning.
Police said the driver ran from the scene in the 4500-block of West Congress Parkway after the vehicle came to rest with its front end lodged in the bedroom window and wall of a garden apartment.
"We knew that the kids were downstairs and that they sleep in that front room. We just immediately tried to get the kids out safe," said Christina Robinson, a neighbor.
The children were sleeping inside that bedroom. No one inside the building was injured.
