Thanksgiving Day shopping give consumers deals ahead of Black Friday
CHICAGO (WLS) -- Many stores opened earlier on Thanksgiving than usual this year, but finding a big bargain can be overwhelming.
It was not Black Friday yet, but some bargain hunters started their holiday shopping as early as 6 a.m. on Thursday morning.
You may think they should be relaxing or cooking, but consumer experts are telling the I-Team that Thursday is "the" day to find the lowest price and some are saying good-bye to Black Friday.
"Only one of our top 25 deals is available on Friday, period," said Bradsdeals.com's Brad Wilson.
Wilson said that if you are a saver then act Thursday night. His site aggregates the best in store and online prices.
"Our job is to find the best deals of the day and save people the time and hassle," he said.
His favorite find is a kitchen aid mixer at Kohl's, which can go from $300 all the way down to $99 after you add rebates and incentives, ultra high-definition $4,000 televisions for under $1,000 and an iPhone-6 at Walmart, where you get a $199 gift card.
Wilson also said that there are Kohl's coupons offering $15 Kohl's Cash for every $50 spent.
Just over the border at "Fat Wallet" in Wisconsin, Brent Shelton has even more valuable advice.
"One of my favorites, Target is offering the new IPad Air 2 with a $140 gift card, so basically you are getting a brand new Apple IPad for 140 bucks off," Shelton said.
Shelton said one of the best finds on his site is to use Macy's coupons for 10 percent off a $25 purchase and 20 percent off a $50 purchase, and some stores are discounting everything.
"We have seen a lot of store-wide sales, like 50 percent off at the Gap," he said.
