The Gary Project receives $17K grant for education via art

GARY, Ind. (WLS) -- An organization in Gary Ind. has been awarded a big grant for the city's education programs.

The Legacy Foundation presented a $17,000 grant to The Gary Project.

The program makes works of art the basis for learning about math, history, English and other subjects.

The goal is to transform schools through immersion in the arts.
