CHICAGO (WLS) -- People in the Bronzeville neighborhood are a step closer to having more access to Chicago's lakefront.

New renderings show a proposal for a new pedestrian bridge over Lakeshore Drive at 41st Street.

New renderings show a proposal for a new pedestrian bridge over Lakeshore Drive at 41st Street. The city will soon start accepting bids from construction companies.

It's one of five new and rebuilt bridges planned for the South Side. A bridge at 35th Street is expected to be completed by this summer.
