Public hearing set for intersection improvements at 95th Street, Stony Island

CHICAGO (WLS) -- The Illinois Department of Transportation will host a public hearing Oct. 21 to discuss the proposed intersection improvements at 95th Street and Stony Island Avenue in Chicago.

The scope of work for the improvement consists of an intersection reconstruction and widening, bridge replacement, traffic signal modernization, drainage improvements and pedestrian and bicycle accommodations.

The public hearing will be in an open-house format, taking place from 4 - 7 p.m.

The purpose of the hearing is to present the project plans and to obtain public input, IDOT said.

Exhibits will be on display and an audio-visual presentation will be shown continuously during the meeting. Project team members will there to discuss plans and answer questions.

A forum will begin at 6 p.m., when members of the public can make statements to a court reporter. Written comments will be accepted at the meeting, mailed afterward or submitted through the project website at www.95thStonyIsland.com. Comments received by Nov. 4 will become part of the official hearing record, IDOT said.
