Uber tests color coded cars
Ride- sharing company Uber is testing a new color code technology to help customers spot their rides in Seattle.

SEATTLE (WLS) -- Ride-sharing company Uber is testing a new color code technology to help customers spot their rides in Seattle.

"Spot" works like this: When a customer orders a ride, he or she selects a color that will show up in the Uber car's windshield light bar. The idea is that the lit color bar will help riders find their drivers and vehicles in crowded locations or in the dark.

Right now, Uber users have to match the license plates.

If it works in Seattle, the program is expected to expand.
