CRYSTAL LAKE, Ill (WLS) -- A judge Thursday ordered high school bleachers that cost $1 million dollars to be torn down.

They have been controversial since before they went up at Crystal Lake South High School.

People who live nearby complain the bleachers are too tall, too close to their property and claim the school district did not get zoning approval to build them.

There is no word whether the district will appeal the decision.
