Special prosecutor will investigate other officers in Van Dyke case

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A special prosecutor will investigate the Chicago police officers whose accounts of Laquan McDonald's shooting by Officer Jason Van Dyke differ from what is seen on dashcam video.

Judge Vincent Gaughan is presiding over Van Dyke's murder case. According to the Tribune, he will appoint the prosecutor to look into the officers' accounts of what happened.

Judge Gaughan has already decided to appoint a special prosecutor handle the Van Dyke case after Anita Alvarez lost her reelection bid.
