VATICAN CITY (WLS) -- Hundreds of people gathered to see a spectacular lights display at the Vatican; but this had nothing to do with Christmas lights.

Crowds gathered to see images related to climate change projected onto the facade of St. Peter's Basilica.

Some of the elaborate lights showed animals threatened by climate change.

The display was put together by philanthropists and environmental foundations to mark the climate change talks in Paris and for the opening of the year of jubilee of mercy.
