Woman killed when car jumps curb in West Pullman

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A pedestrian was killed when a car jumped a curb in the city's West Pullman neighborhood.

Police said the 46-year-old woman was on the sidewalk near 118th and Halsted when the car's driver lost control. Police said the car hit a utility pole before striking the woman.

The 19-year-old driver was taken to a nearby hospital and is facing traffic citations.

Police are investigating the cause of the crash.
