Police warn Wilmette residents of ruse burglaries

WILMETTE, Ill. (WLS) -- Fake house calls are costing homeowners a lot in north suburban Wilmette, where police say they've responded to several burglaries where criminals pretend to be there for business.

By the time homeowners figure out what's going on, the burglars are gone.

Police say if you question anyone's identity, don't hesitate to call police.
