Woman carrying suspected opium, methamphetamines stopped at O'Hare

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A Minnesota woman was arrested early Saturday at O'Hare International Airport after authorities found her carrying suspected opium and methamphetamine tablets.

Khoua Vang, 49, appeared in Cook County bond court on Sunday, where a judge set her bail for $100,000.

Vang allegedly was carrying 17 kilograms of suspected opium and more than 3500 tablets of methamphetamine, according to the Cook County Sheriff's Office.

She was charged with delivery, trafficking and possession of methamphetamines, trafficking a controlled substance and two counts of manufacturing/delivery of a controlled substance.

She is due back in court on May 13.
