Pastor's wife killed when Christmas tree erupts in flames

RALEIGH, North Carolina -- A pastor and his family are in mourning after his wife was killed when their Christmas tree caught fire.

Firefighters said Sarah Beddington, 68, was unable to escape after the fire spread through the house.

Her husband and two daughters managed to get out in time, but one of the girls suffered minor burns and was taken to the hospital.

Investigators said the family had just returned home from Christmas services when the fire started.
