A vehicle hit and killed a pedestrian on northbound Interstate 294 in the north suburbs, ISP said.
The woman was hit near Sanders Road in the Northbrook area just before 11:30 p.m., police said.
ISP said she came out of a car parked on the shoulder of the expressway before she was hit.
She was pronounced dead on the scene.
Chopper7HD was over the scene Friday morning, and a car on the side of the road had its hood up.

Illinois State Police said the vehicle involved did not remain on the scene.
The accident impacted rush hour morning traffic, with only one lane open heading northbound on 294 until about 7:30 a.m.
ISP said it is still in the early stages of the investigation so they couldn't provide any description of the vehicle that may have fled from the scene.
No further information on the woman's identity was immediately provided.
