Chicago police investigating 7 armed robberies in 90 minutes on NW Side

CHICAGO (WLS) -- Chicago police are now connecting a series of attacks early Thursday morning to the same robbery crew.

Chicago police said there were seven armed robberies within 90 minutes in Hermosa and Logan Square on the Northwest Side.

CPD said after each one, the suspects got away in a dark-colored sedan.

In the first robbery, a 64-year-old woman, 54-year-old man and 44-year-old man, were standing in the 4400-block of West Armitage Avenue at about 4:22 a.m., police said.

Four armed male suspects got out of a black sedan and approached the victims, demanding their property, police said.

After a physical altercation, the victims complied and the suspects got back in their sedan and fled the scene, police said.



Between 5:20 and 5:40 a.m., another robbery occurred in the 3300-block of West Armitage Avenue.

A third robbery occurred in the 2000-block of North Avers Avenue at about 5:26 a.m.

Police said three armed male suspects got out of a black sedan and approached a 53-year-old woman.

The suspects demanded the victim's property, and she complied, police said.



The suspects then got back in the sedan and fled the scene.

Another robbery took place a few minutes later, at about 5:30 a.m., in the 1800-block of North Ridgeway Avenue.

Four armed suspects got out of a black Nissan sedan and approached a 51-year-old man, police said.
Police said they forcefully took property from the man and then fled the scene in the sedan.

The other robberies took place at the below places and times:

- 3500-block of West Dickens Avenue at 5:35 a.m.

- 2200-block of North Springfield Avenue between 5:35 and 5:43 a.m.
- 2300-block of North Spaulding Avenue at 5:45 a.m.



Another robbery took place just after 6 a.m. Feb. 6 in the 3300-block of West Armitage Avenue.

No one was injured, and no one is in custody.

CPD described two of the suspects as 5-feet, 8-inches tall and 140 to 150 pounds and 6-feet, 4-inches tall and 180 pounds, respectively.
