Twelve-year-old Bebe survived a vicious attack when he was stabbed multiple times by a stranger outside his family's home Monday evening as his owner, a 15-year-old girl, took him for a walk in the 6600-block of West Irving Park Road.
She managed to fight off the attacker and run, but not before Bebe suffered serious, life-threatening injuries. The building's security cameras captured the attack.
"For no reason whatsoever, this woman just attacks and starts stabbing her dog. It's horrific in itself," said John Garrido, with the Garrido Stray Rescue Foundation.

The Garrido Stray Rescue Foundation helped raise more than $9,000 in just two days to pay for the surgery Bebe needed.
"Everybody focuses in on the evil this one person did," Garrido said, "but we have over 250 people who stepped up to help this family."
Bebe left the animal hospital Wednesday afternoon one day after life-saving surgery. His family could hardly be happier.
"He's doing great. He's eating good," said his owner, Ana Gabriela Jasso. "He was even barking with the other dogs, so that's a good sign to them."
Police say the woman responsible for the attack is Jeannette Olivo. Officers took her into custody shortly after the incident, much to the family's relief.
"She needs to be in jail. She needs to be held accountable. This cannot be happening," said Bebe's other owner, Sergio Macias.
While Bebe the dog is back home, Olivo remains behind bars facing two felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
