NASCAR Chicago street race meeting meeting addresses concerns about noise, lake access and more

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A community meeting with downtown residents and businesses revealed tackled concerns about noise, lake access, and street closures for the NASCAR race this summer.

There will be several weeks of street closures before and after the race, and they include parts of Michigan Avenue and DuSable Lake Shore Drive.


Wednesday night's meeting covered issues including access to the lake, parks and Michigan Avenue, cleanup of Grant Park and noise levels from the race itself.

Street closures, parking restrictions surrounding Chicago NASCAR race released

NASCAR said speeds for this race will be lower than at races that take place on an oval track.

In May, teams will canvas local businesses and distribute more information.
