$1,000 reward offered after 22-year-old man killed in Gage Park hit-and-run

CHICAGO (WLS) -- A $1,000 reward is now being offered to help solve a deadly Southwest Side hit-and-run.

Jermaine Martin, 22, was killed around 3:20 a.m. August 9 in the 5000 block of South Kedzie Avenue, police said.



Chicago police released images of a car wanted in connection to the hit-and-run in August.



The driver of a silver Toyota 4Runner was heading northbound when they ignored a traffic signal and went through the crosswalk, hitting the 22-year-old man, police said.

Martin was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. His death was ruled a homicide.

The driver fled the scene, and no one is in custody, police said. Investigators believe the vehicle is between a 2014 and 2024 model.

Cook County Crime Stoppers announced a $1,000 reward Saturday for information leading to an arrest in the case.
