Chicago police say a group of men used hammers to break the front windows at the Rolex store on North Michigan Avenue.
The crime happened around 2:37 p.m. Friday in the middle of a busy Mag Mile at Michigan and Huron, police said.
Four suspects smashed the windows before entering the store and stealing merchandise, police said. They fled the scene in a vehicle, but six suspects were later arrested and the stolen items were recovered.
They stole five watches worth about $170,000, according to the Cook County State's Attorney's Office.
Six men are now facing felony charges, and they all were ordered held in jail at a court hearing Sunday.
The Cook County State's Attorney's Office said the defendants were identified as Victory Banks, 33; Will Brown, 21; Aldonte Goodman, 22; Anthony Hampton, 24; Dalvin Johnson, 31; and Armon Williams, 18.
No further information was immediately available.
