The crash happened near the intersection of Iowa Street and Laramie Avenue about 8:45 a.m.
Chicago police said the driver of a gray Nissan Altima got into a crash with a police squad vehicle.
Witnesses told police the driver of the sedan ran away after the crash, prompting a massive response in the area.

It is unclear if the suspect was apprehended by police.
Police said the Nissan was driving south on Laramie, when it hit the other car that was stopped at a stop sign.
The Nissan was impounded, police said.
No one was injured.
