CHICAGO (WLS) -- On Tuesday, the mayor said the city reached a tentative agreement with the Chicago Fire Fighters Union Local 2.
This comes after nearly a four-year standoff with the union.
"I'm glad that we are moving forward," Johnson said. "We've budgeted for back pay and other elements within the tentative agreement."
Local 2 said the union's executive board has recommended for ratification of the contract.
The union is set to meet next week to further discuss the contract. A special meeting will be held on August 25 and 26.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates.
